University of Regina
Hello! My name is Stacey Baran, and I am a fourth year student in the Elementary Education program at the University of Regina. I am on my journey in becoming a teacher and some words that describe me are understanding, helpful, and compassionate. I enjoy working with children and love to take risks, explore, and provide students with engaging learning activities. Becoming a teacher has been a life-long dream of mine, as I have known since grade 1 that I wanted to be in this profession. My mom has a huge impact on my development and growth as a teacher, because she inspired me to become one! (My mom is an educator for her career path). I have always had a passion for learning and for working with children. Teaching combines two of my interests: facilitating to meet my students’ needs, as well as learning alongside with them. I believe this is an important aspect to keep in mind as it contributes to creating an inclusive environment in the classroom.
The pictures above represent my journey throughout education from my first days of teaching to creating new friends, supportive peers and classmates.
On another note, lets get to know the FUN side of me!! I spend most of my spare time volunteering in multiple communities. I have been involved in over three parish youth groups spread throughout Regina. I presently work part-time at St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic parish being the youth minister there and providing learning experiences and fun activities for the youth, relating to God and their spiritual growth.
I love to be outdoors and spend time with my family and friends. A special member of my family who has already been with us for several years is my “Baby Boo” Buddy. My dog is honestly one of my best friends; as he is always there for me, motivates me, and helps me get through stressful times. We spend lots of time together, when at home, and go to many places together. Buddy is my cute, fluffy companion that is always there for me and is my sidekick because he never leaves my side!
